Givens was born in New York City of USA, She was a popular actor in the Hollywood the daughter of Ruth Roper and Reuben Givens. At the Early age of givens her parents were divorced and then she and her sister Stephanie were brought up their mother. Givens completed her education at New Rochelle Academy  private school which closed in June 1987 and enrolled at Sarah Lawrence College.
